It's Amost Here!

We are so excited!  Our March/April issue goes to print February 10th!  Click on the image to see what features we are working on for this edition!

Starting February 15th, we will be offering a course that will teach the drop spindle and then, using the spun yarn, students will learn to knit.  The course will be 3-4 classes in length.  Space is limited so we are needing to get a head count and ages of the girls interested in attending!  Those in our local area should email us as soon as possible!  The course will be taught by Nancy Wight and held at Potlatch, Idaho.  More details will be posted shortly.

Subscribe for Two Chances to Win!!!

ONE:  We would love to reach 3,000 subscribers! And to celebrate our growing numbers, for every 500 subscriptions we get, we will have a drawing for a prize! There will be 6 total drawings, with each prize a little bigger than the last. For our first 500 subscribers, we will be drawing for a Mary Frances Sewing Book (or Adventures Among the Thimble People) by Jane Eayre Fryer. This charming book was originally printed in 1913 and teaches practical sewing skills. It follows the story of a little girl who wants to learn to sew and is taught by her grandmother's sewing bird and other tools. The book comes with full-size clothing patterns for 16" dolls. Not just for younger girls, this book will appeal to all ages! We will also be including a brass-plated hemming bird, complete with its own case, just like the one that Mary Frances learned from! This useful and beautiful little bird has a $40 dollar value. We will be updating our website with information and prize information.  Names will be drawn from our list of subscribers.

TWO:  With each issue, we draw a name from our list of subscribers to win a special give-away!  For our Mar/Apr 2014 issue, we will be drawing for a Victory Garden Kit from Victory Seeds AND their Heirloom Tomato Kit!  Click on link below and then click on the kits to see which seeds will be in them.   Subscribe by March 31st and be entered to win.

Wonder why we picked a Victory Garden Kit? Victory Gardens are the subject of our Historical Homemaker column! And we are sure having fun putting it together!
